PRESIDENT & FOUNDER/INSTRUCTOR
Julia Bowers received her clinical license in Hamburg, Germany in 1986 and practiced as an esthetician throughout college as she studied business. After graduating, she opened and ran her own spa until deciding to relocate to the U.S. in 1995. Julia was quickly hired as a Technical Director of Esthetics at Blaine, a renowned group of cosmetology schools in Massachusetts, where she managed three locations and many instructors. Eight years later, she was appointed Cosmetology Department Chairman at North Shore Community College, overseeing the entire cosmetics, esthetics, and nail programs. Somehow Julia found the time and energy to continue her own cosmetics education and keep her practices up, including permanent cosmetics, and started Pigmenta, Inc, her niche company providing long lasting, gentle permanent cosmetic services at various independent venues, in 2004.
Julia’s passion for education and understanding of its importance throughout one’s career inspired her to open Institute de Epidermie, insisting that it be more than a series of over-crowded, under-serviced workshops. Her history working with the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology allowed her to create an advanced training center that would not only expand expertise but also be accredited. To Julia, this is true continuing education.
